Thursday Thirteen--Weight Loss Tips

With a 7-day cruise coming right around the corner and knowing full-well everyone puts on at least 10 pounds when on a cruise, I've decided to take off twenty pounds so that I can enjoy adding the ten pounds on the cruise. This plan makes sense to me--this way I won't grow out of my cruise clothes!

Today I'm contributing thirteen weight-loss tips to take off inches and extra pounds:

1. Fasting--I like to fast at the minimum once or twice a year to clean out the body. And Springtime is an excellent time to get off that winter fat. The fast I use is the famous Stanley Burroughs lemonade fast: a little red pepper, organic pure maple syrup to taste, and squeezed organic lemons. Sip this through a straw as the concoction is bad for your teeth, although very cleansing and good for your body.

2. Teaspoon of Norwegian Cod Liver Oil right before bed

3. Herbal Weight-Loss Formula--of ayurvedic herbals

4. Tonalin XS-CLA--which helps reduce body fat and increase muscle tone

5. Walking on the treadmill until breaking a good sweat

6. Love Handler--a Bliss product for lazy abdominals

7. Throw off the "set point" by breaking the fast and then returning to the fast--this confuses the body and helps keep the weight loss moving.

8. Exercise with dumbbells--muscles help burn fat.

9. Drinking lots of pure water and Yerba Mate tea.

10. Keeping weight loss buddies informed of my daily success (or failure!)--this keeps me accountable.

11. Weighing myself first thing in the morning and periodically taking measurements. This way I don't go into denial which is soooo easy to do.

12. Journal my emotions/feelings/thoughts. Weight-loss isn't JUST about the body!

13. Employ EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) as often as needed.

I know someone who did the lemonade thing. I thought about trying it myself but thought I would starve! *grin*
Great list for some healthy weight loss. I would like to try one of the cleansing fasts sometime. I am just wondering...when you live in Maui, where on earth do you cruise to?? :)

If men stop eat less - they lose weight without having to exercise. If women eat less, they won't shift any substantial weight UNLESS they take regular, strenuous exercise. Isn't life a bitch sometimes?
