Showing up for the annual Lahaina Halloween Party (also known as the Mardi Gras of the Pacific) will be the 58-foot voyaging canoe, the Hokulaka'i. The double-hulled vessel has recently finished it's 3,000 mile maiden voyage through the Hawaiian archipelago, and public tours will be offered on board from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31st at the Maalea Small Boat Harbor in Lahaina.

The Hawaiian Islands were settled by Polynesian voyagers who travelled on such vessels to the Islands.
